The present technology relates to an encoding device, an encoding method, a decoding device, a decoding method, a program, and a wireless communication system for enabling efficient transmission of a frame in accordance with the status of a transmission channel. An encoding device according to an aspect of the present technology performs encoding and modulation of transmission data stored in a payload, and performs encoding and modulation of modulation encoding information according to a predetermined system, the modulation encoding information representing a system for encoding and/or modulation with respect to stored information stored in the header, and representing a system for encoding and/or modulation with respect to the transmission data. The encoding device performs the encoding and modulation of the stored information according to the system represented by the modulation encoding information, and transmits a frame configured from a header attached to the payload, the header comprising a first region in which the modulation encoding information is stored and a second region in which the stored information is stored. The present technology may be applied, for example, to a device that performs wireless communication using a 60 GHz band. |
