A method of producing an optical lens comprising the step of producing an optical lens-use base material (40) having a plurality of mutually-parallelly-formed curved surface portions (43) and a pair of flange portions (48) formed on the opposite sides of the plurality of the curved surface portions (43), the step of drawing the base material (40), and the step of cutting the drawn base material (40) to produce an optical lens (1), characterized in that the plurality of curved surface portions (43) of the base material (40) drawn by the drawing step function as optically acting units. Since such a production method can determine the shape of optically acting units in a base material stage prior to drawing, optically acting units having a sufficient size can be worked.
