FIBER AMPLIFIER

An optical fiber amplifier is provided to enlarge an input power dynamic range by obtaining a flat gain spectrum by implementing an optical fiber between two amplifiers to obtain a Raman gain. First and second gain portions(201,202) include a gain medium and at least one pump. An optical fiber(204) is arranged between the first and second gain portions. A Raman amplifier(205) applies a pumping light on the optical fiber. A coupler(206) couples the pumping light outputted from the Raman amplifier with the optical fiber. A gain flattening filter is further included in the optical fiber amplifier to improve gain flatness.
