Display device 10 is able to detect a proximity operation in which finger F is brought close to display surface 141 without making contact and a contact operation in which the finger makes contact with display surface 141. Display device 10 specifies a position of a finger of a user while in a stationary state above display scree 141 as reference position BP1 or BP2 based on the proximate operation of the user. When display device 10 specifies reference position BP1 or BP2 after screen SC1 including selectable objects is displayed on display surface 141, display device 10 enlarges and displays objects located in specific region Ts according to the specified reference position (objects having reference sign "M" at the end). This allows for supporting the user in indicating by a contact operation of an object located at a position further away from the finger when the user operates display device 10 with one hand.
