The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, in an aqueous medium, a film-forming polymer in the form of an aqueous dispersion of solid particles dispersed in said aqueous medium, an organic lacquer, said composition having a pH varying between 3 and 8. The inventive composition is particularly suitable as a nail varnish. The invention also relates to the use of an organic lacquer in a cosmetic composition comprising, in an aqueous medium, a film-forming polymer in the form of an aqueous dispersion of solid particles dispersed in said aqueous medium. The aforementioned composition has a pH varying between 3 and 8 and is used to apply make-up to keratinous matter, particularly the skin or nails, without leaving stains and/or preventing and/or reducing the bleeding of the organic lacquer on said keratinous matter.
