Disclosed is a metal nanoparticle having a core portion containing at least one metal element, and an organic compound adhered to the surface of the core portion. This metal nanoparticle is characterized in that the organic compound has a hydrophilic moiety and a hydrophobic moiety in a molecule, and the hydrophilic moiety is coordinately bonded to the surface of the core portion through an O atom.
