A multi-layer laminate film 10 comprises: an inner layer assembly 31 for forming an inner face of a package, an outer layer 38, or an outer layer assembly, for forming an outer face of a package; resealable adhesive 39 between the inner layer assembly 31 and the outer layer 38, or the outer layer assembly. The inner layer assembly 31 comprises a combination of a sealant layer and a support layer, the support layer being positioned adjacent the resealable adhesive. The sealant layer is bonded to the support layer by a permanent adhesive or the sealant layer and the support layer are a coextruded film. A package (1, fig 1) formed from the laminate has a portion openable to define an access aperture 16, defined by cut lines 11 and 12. Exemplary materials provided for the layers include; a cast polypropylene (CPP) or ethylene methyl acrylate sealing layer, an outer layer assembly comprising polyester, nylon or oriented polypropylene (OPP) and a nylon, polyester or polypropylene support layer. An optional barrier layer may be included in the inner assembly and preferably comprises ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH). |
