PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety, working efficiency and appearance by eliminating exposure of a wire in the state where a back door is opened in a tonneau cover device for a vehicle in which an upper surface opening of a luggage compartment is automatically opened/closed by a tonneau cover sheet in connection with opening/closing operation of the back door. SOLUTION: In order to prevent the wire for interlocking with the back door wound up on a balancer 41 of a driving system 40 of the tonneau cover sheet 30 and connected to the back door 3 from being exposed to the outside at opening of the back door 3, a cover body 50 for protecting the exposed part of the wire at drawing out of the wire 43 for interlocking with the back door is provided. As the cover body 50, rod antenna type protection tubes 51a, 51b, 51c are used. Further, the cover body 50 may be constituted by an expandable/contractable bellows-like tube 54.
