<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a platinum or platinum-alloy supported catalyst suitable for a fuel cell catalyst, which does not cause problems on the safety and environment, wherein platinum or platinum alloy particles being fine and regular in size are uniformly and highly dispersed on carriers. <P>SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a platinum or platinum-alloy supported catalyst contains a salt or complex of platinum and an organic carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid and maleic acid, and if necessary contains a salt or complex of the organic carboxylic acid and a metal selected from the group consisting of paladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, gold, silver, iron, cobalt and nickel, and then is carried out by reduction processing and appropriate heat treating processing after impregnating a solution in which the quantity of platinum is not less than 20 mol% of a total metal amount and the concentration of free an organic carboxylic acid is not more than 100 g/L into catalyst carriers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
