The present invention provides, at least in part, compounds of formula I: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein Z_1, Z₂, Z₃, R₁, x, y, R₂, R₃, R_4a, R_4b, R₅, R₆ and R₇ are described herein, as well as methods for their identification, their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them, and their use as Aurora A kinase inhibitors in treatment, e.g., of cancer and other proliferative disorders.
