An apparatus for confirming a wrongdoing vehicle and a method thereof are provided to obtain financial reparations by photographing the plate number of the vehicle and storing the accident date in the digital clock. An apparatus for confirming a wrongdoing vehicle comprises a collision sensor(20) installed at the rear of a vehicle; a distance sensor(21) and a camera(22), a control part(31) receiving output signals of the sensors, outputting a signal to the camera, photographing the image of the wrongdoing vehicle, and saving the received information; a controller(30) installed with an image processing part(32) processing the image stored in the control part; and a digital clock(40) receiving a letter and a number from the image processing part and storing the accident date.
