<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit which suppresses heat generation in order to avoid the thermal breakage of a power element, and protects the power element, in the drive circuit of a brushless motor which frequently uses electric braking. <P>SOLUTION: In this drive circuit of the brushless motor, the heat generation of the power element in which a transistor and a rectifying diode are arranged in one package at electric braking is suppressed by newly adding a Schottky diode in parallel with a three-phase upper-side power element. By this arrangement, a conventional power element can be used at normal uniform loading, a brake current of the added diode flows at the electrical braking, and thereby the heat generation of an upper-arm power element can be suppressed, thus enabling the power element to be protected from heat even if the electric braking is frequently used in a short time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
