[Problem] To provide: a vehicle steering angle detection apparatus which obtains by vernier calculation a wide range of angular information from the angular information from an angular sensor provided to a steering shaft and the angular information from a rotational angle sensor of a motor, and detects a steering angle, of which a neutral point was identified, in a short time with relatively simple configuration and processing; and an electric power steering apparatus equipped with the vehicle steering angle detection apparatus. [Solution] The vehicle steering angle detection apparatus is provided with: a vernier calculation unit which performs vernier calculation on the basis of a steering shaft angle and a motor angle; a neutral period identification unit which identifies a neutral period, including a neutral point, on the basis of the reference angle calculated by the vernier calculation unit; and a neutral point identification unit which identifies the neutral point from the neutral period and a stored neutral point value, and outputs the steering angle with the identified neutral point. |
