The system has an alternator inverter (7) and an electric turbocharger inverter (8) parallely connected to a battery (6). An integrated alterno-starter (2) and an electric turbocharger (4) are driven by the battery through respective inverters during starting of an engine (1) such that the inverters simultaneously emit constant rectangular ripple voltages. A motor (5) drives the electric turbocharger and has impedance smaller than that of the alterno-starter.
