Automatic proximity faucet

A hands-free faucet in the proximity of an electrical ground to provide water from at least one reservoir is provided. The faucet includes: a conductive sensing plate; a capacitor-based sensor circuit electrically connected to the sensing plate; a non-conductive valve housing having a valve inlet and valve outlet, wherein the valve outlet is operatively connected to the conductive sensing plate; a non-conductive seating ring situated between the valve inlet and the valve outlet; a conductive connector traversing the seating ring; and a grounding wire connecting the capacitor-based sensor circuit to the electrical ground.
