<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of measuring a shear modulus of a membrane-electrode assembly used for a fuel cell in the state where a load is applied to the membrane-electrode assembly. <P>SOLUTION: This device for measuring shear modulus is equipped with: a support part for supporting the membrane-electrode assembly so that a load applied in the vertical direction to the surface of the membrane-electrode assembly can be adjusted; a shear force application device for applying a shear force changing periodically from one surface of the supported membrane-electrode assembly to a horizontal direction with respect to the surface; a load cell for detecting a force acquired from the other surface of the membrane-electrode assembly to which the shear force is applied; and a calculation part for calculating the shear modulus of the membrane-electrode assembly based on the force detected by the load cell, a surface area of the other surface of the membrane-electrode assembly, a thickness of the membrane-electrode assembly, and an amplitude of the shear force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
