PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustment device capable of reducing unevenness in operating force of an operating lever and support force for side plates, in a steering column support apparatus.SOLUTION: In the support force adjustment device of the steering column support apparatus, support force is adjusted by adjusting fastening torque of a nut 39. At a side of the nut of a spindle 38, the adjustment device includes a first adjustment unit A having: a first rotation drive section 60 for applying the fastening torque of the nut 39; and a first torque detection section 62 for detecting the fastening torque. At a side of an operating lever 22 of the spindle 38, the adjustment device includes a second adjustment unit B having: a second rotation drive section 65 for applying operational torque of the operating lever 22; and a second torque detection section 69 for detecting the operational torque of the operating lever 22. A controller 70 includes a maximum operational torque detection unit 96 for detecting maximum operational torque.
