<p>A security system for the containment of at least one firearm in a repository (12), which operates in conjunction with an alarm system (26) adapted to generate a signal upon the emergency or unauthorised opening of the repository (12), indicative access to and possible removal of the firearm contained therein. An alarm system (26) generates a signal at a remote location (36) indicative as to whether the firearm in the repository (12) has been accessed and/or removed either in an intended manner or under emergency and/or duress conditions. Also included is a particular push button lock mechanism (30) suitable for use with the security system.</p> |
