PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pallet transfer mechanism capable of smoothly transferring a pallet with a workpiece placed thereon, from a pallet supply part to the pallet mounting part side of a machine tool without dislocation to allow high accuracy machining of the workpiece after transferred. SOLUTION: Out of the combination of track rails and moving blocks constituting a linear motion guide device, a plurality of moving blocks 6 are disposed on the lower side of the pallet 2, and a pair of track rails are disposed as fixed rails 4 on the machine tool side while disposing the track rails as moving rails 5 above a pallet supply part 10 movably in the transfer direction of the pallet 2. When transferring the pallet 2, the moving rails 5 are brought close to the fixed rails 4 to allow the moving block 6 to be transferred continuously onto the fixed rails 4 from the moving rails 5. The pallet 2 can thereby be transferred onto a pallet mounting part 51 while keeping the position accuracy of the pallet 2, so that a workpiece 60 can be uniformly machined with high accuracy by the machine tool 50.
