<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce recovery processing resulting from the shortage of a printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: In a printing system 1 comprising a plurality of printers, each printer comprises two receiving buffers wherein, when there is a sufficient residual quantity of the printing medium and the shortage of the printing medium may not arise, a printing job is performed using these two receiving buffers, and on the other hand, when the shortage of the printing medium may arise, the printing job is performed only using one receiving buffer. Each printer comprises two receiving buffers to store and read received printing data, a residual quantity detecting means 8 to detect the residual quantity of the printing medium in which printing data are printed, and a printing processing control means 9. The printing processing control means stores the received printing data in two receiving buffers when the residual quantity of the printing medium is larger than a preset value, and stores the received printing data only in one receiving buffer when the residual quantity of the printing medium is smaller than the preset value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
