PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a contrast by suppressing reflected light during black display.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 includes: substrates 20, 23; liquid crystal layer 22 held between the substrates 20, 23, and made of polymer dispersion type liquid crystal (PDLC) or polymer network type liquid crystal (PNLC); a common electrode 21 provided on the substrate 20; a plurality of switching elements 17 provided on the substrate 23 for each of a plurality of pixels; a plurality of reflection films 25 provided on the plurality of switching elements 17 for each of the plurality of pixels; a plurality of color filters CF provided on the plurality of reflection films 25 respectively; and a plurality of pixel electrodes 29 provided on the plurality of color filters CF and electrically connected to a plurality of drain electrodes of the plurality of switching elements 17 respectively.
