PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition for column spacers having excellent adhesion to a substrate surface as well as high sensitivity to light irradiation, and capable of forming column spacers which can effectively suppress the occurrence of color unevenness due to failure by gravity without causing low-temperature foaming in a liquid crystal display element produced, and to provide column spacers formed using the curable resin composition for column spacers and a liquid crystal display element. SOLUTION: The curable resin composition for column spacers includes: an alkali-soluble (meth)acrylic copolymer; at least one modified polyfunctional (meth)acrylate compound selected from the group consisting of caprolactone-, ethylene oxide- and propylene oxide-modified polyfunctional (meth)acrylate compounds; a photoreaction initiator; and a polyfunctional thiol compound.
