PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interchangeable lens type camera system constituted to prevent an interchangeable lens from improperly acting in the case of attaching the interchangeable lens to a camera main body in an interchangeable lens type camera. SOLUTION: The camera system is constituted of the camera main body 1 equipped with a camera CPU 21 and a detection switch 25 connected to the camera CPU and switched in response to the start of the attachment of the interchangeable lens 10 and switched to a restoring state in response to the completion of the attachment of the lens 10, and the lens 10 having a lens CPU 41. When the lens 10 is attached to the main body 1, the 1st CPU 21 supplies reset signals to the 2nd CPU 41 in response to the switching of the switch 25, and cancels the reset signals in response to the switching of the switch 25 to the restoring state with the completion of attachment of the lens.
