The invention concerns a guide structure for guiding a lift for the transport ofpersons or goods, which comprises two column-like guides (10), at which a cage (5) with own drive runs and is guided, wherein the guide (10) is constructed as carrying element. An extruded lightweight metal section, the structured crosssection of which comprises planar guide surfaces, anchoring grooves, guide grooves and a brake limb, is used as guide (10). Furthermore, the interior with counterweight (18) and buffers is accessible for assembly and maintenance by means of a removable maintenance lid. The guides (10) are connected by means of groove strips and connecting strips with one another, with the foundation module (12) and with the head module (13).
