The damper system for a drawer comprises a pivoting slide (13) attached to the drawer. The inner end of this forms part of a rack and pinion system. The teeth (17, 30) of the rack and pinion slope in opposite directions so that a toothed sleeve on the outside of the pinion is pressed on to its core and moves with it while the drawer is closing but is raised from it and acts as a freewheel mechanism during opening. |
