DATA TRANSMISSION UNIT AND MONITORING SYSTEM USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission unit and a monitoring system using it capable of reducing battery consumption in a battery power source for easy maintenance work and facilitating postprocessing such as data analysis for preventing degradation of monitoring accuracy.

SOLUTION: A thermostat switch (a monitoring means and a switching means) 7 is arranged between a transmission circuit (a data transmission means) 6 and the battery power source 8. The thermostat switch 7 allows power supply from the battery power source 8 to the transmission circuit 6 only when increase in an ambient temperature of continuous casting equipment 10 due to flow of a cast piece (workpiece) W is detected, and the transmission circuit 6 transmits detection data from a vibration sensor (a sensor means) 3.
