<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording/playback properties in a hologram recording/playback apparatus device using a coaxial system. <P>SOLUTION: When phase-modulating reference light, a specific pixel array pattern formed of two or more pixels by the number of horizontal pixels M×the number of vertical pixels N (M, N are natural numbers≥1, M≠N) is used as a random phase unit.
