PURPOSE: An apparatus for treating food waste and a method thereof are provided to completely treat the food waste without leaving a residue and to effectively remove moisture which is contained in the food waste. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for treating food waste includes the following steps: supplying inorganic compounds as a reactant for decomposing the food waste(S820); agitating and heating the food waste and the reactant to promote the evaporation and decomposition of the food waste(S830); evaporating and decomposing the heated and agitated food waste(S840); supplying a deodorization neutralizing agent into the decomposed food waste(S860); deodorizing and dehumidifying the food waste(S870); and discharging the food waste(S880). |
