PURPOSE: A defroster for a refrigerator with a drum type evaporator is provided to improve cooling efficiency by removing the frost layer from the surface of the fixed drum type evaporator with the defrosting blade in operating the refrigerator, and to reduce power consumption by not using the additional defrosting heater. CONSTITUTION: A defroster of a refrigerator is composed of left and right bearing frames(63) formed at both sides of a base plate dividing the refrigerator into a freezer compartment and a refrigerator compartment, left and right mounting frames formed outside the left and right bearing frames, a drum type evaporator(65) fixed to the left and right bearing frames by an extension mounting rod and composed of a cooling coil flowing refrigerant through the refrigerant tube, a defrosting blade(75) arranged longitudinally in the surface of the drum type evaporator, connected to left and right hubs turned and installed to the left and right bearing frames and composed of a driven pulley mounted in the end of the hub, a pan(77) installed in the base plate corresponding to the lower part of the drum type evaporator, and a driving motor(85) mounted to the frame of the upper part of the freezer compartment and composed of a driving pulley connected to the driven pulley by a belt and mounted to the rotating shaft.
