PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a measurement process by a virtual surface, capable of scanning a workpiece surface with a recess.SOLUTION: In a method 10 for controlling a measurement process of a coordinate measurement machine for measuring a measurement object 12, the coordinate measurement machine has a probe including a controller and a probe pin 18; relative motion between the probe pin 18 and a surface 14 of the measurement object 12 is controlled by the controller; and the surface 14 has at least one real portion 24 and at least one virtual portion 26 coincident with a measurement object surface 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
