PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head-integrated ink cartridge which can perform control for keeping negative pressure constant from the beginning of use to the end, by generating the negative pressure against a recording head by a difference between heads of fluid. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge comprises a recording head unit part and an ink storage unit part, and a bottom of the ink storage unit part is composed of a movable bottom plate sealed with a rubber seal. The bottom plate is elevated by the height equivalent to the volume of ink reduced due to use, so that the top surface of the liquid level of ink can be kept constant and so that the negative pressure against the head unit part can be controlled to be kept constant. The ink cartridge is provided with a means for computing the quantity of the ink, reduced due to use, from the count of the number of ejected dots and the quantity of the ink used in suction recovery, or a means capable of detecting the top surface of the liquid level of the ink.
