PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for avoiding the problem in which a fold of an original cannot be identified when a deviation in overlapping of originals is not present during original reading or a fold of an original is set in a transferring direction.SOLUTION: After making a deviation in overlapping of one paper sheet and the other paper sheet across a fold of a folded original, both surfaces of the original is read. By detecting a shade from a read image of one surface caused by a deviation, identifying a position of the fold in the read image on the basis of the detected shade, and coupling read images of respective surfaces in a coupling order according to the positions, one sheet of an original image is generated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
