A rotor 1 of a motor includes a rotor core 2; permanent magnet insertion holes 3 that are formed in an outer circumferential portion of the rotor core 2 along a circumferential direction and in each of which an air gap 5 extending in an outer circumferential direction, is formed in both end portions in a state where a permanent magnet 4 is inserted; and a permanent magnet 4 inserted in each of the permanent magnet insertion holes 3, wherein a thin portion 7 is formed between the air gap 5 and an outer circumference of the rotor core 2, rounded corner portions P1, P2 are formed at two locations on an outer circumference side in the air gap 5, and a radius of curvature of any one of the corner portions P1, P2 is equal to or more than half a width t2 of the air gap 5 in a circumferential direction. |
