FIELD: sewage treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of sewage containing emulsions of oils, fats, petroleum substances and other organic substances, for example, spent lubricant-cooling liquids, detergent solutions. Method involves treatment of emulsions of organic matters with iron hydroxides suspension obtained preliminary by electrochemical dissolving metallic anode taken at the ratio 0.5-15 parts of hydroxide dried residue per 1 part of emulsified organic substance. To activate the process of producing iron hydroxides suspension the latter is obtained at boiling point of electrolyte and current density 10-200 A/m2. Invention can be used in machine engineering, chemical industry and in domestic chemistry works.
