An aromatic granular material and animal litter are provided, which are favorable in the generation of an aroma, and capable of effectively suppressing generation of a bad odor. An aromatic granular material to be used for animal litter including a plurality of granular materials includes: a water absorptive core; a waterstop coating layer being formed on a surface of the core, and being composed of a waterstop material which is less water absorptive than the core; and a fragrance layer including a fragrance and being formed on a surface of the waterstop coating layer. It is preferable that the fragrance layer further includes a dispersing agent capable of dispersing the fragrance into water. |
