<p>A system and method, in the context of a search engine marketing campaign, for determining a value to be placed upon at least one mode through which an Internet user is referred to or otherwise enters a website of interest is described. Several embodiments include systems and methods for valuing at least one referral mode based on data acquired from one or more search engines and/or web analytics tools. The systems and methods are further configured to perform fraud analysis, achieve a predictive value of a referral mode and/or optimize the placement of a website in organic or paid search results at one or more search engines based on the value of the at least one referral mode.</p>
