PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a water-solubleβ-1,3 glucuronic acid-containing polysaccharide. SOLUTION: The method for producing theβ-1,3 glucuronic acid-containing polysaccharide includes treatingβ-1,3 glucan in an aqueous medium containing 0.00125-0.125 g of a nitroxy radical derivative, 0.0125-1.25 g of an alkali bromide and 5-100 mmol of an oxidizing agent, based on 1g ofβ-1,3 glucan, to obtain aβ-1,3 glucuronic acid-containing polysaccharide.
