PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light source drive device by which, even if a disconnection failure occurs in a part of semiconductor light source elements which are connected in series, the remaining semiconductor light source elements are continuously lighted.SOLUTION: The semiconductor light source drive device includes a light source unit 700 which are configured by connecting a plurality of light source modules 701-704 in series. In the light source modules 701-704, a switching element of which the conduction/non-conduction is controlled by a control signal, light source elements S which are connected in series, and an overvoltage detection circuit 750 in which a Zener diode 751 and a light-emitting element are connected in series and a light detection element is disposed oppositely to the light-emitting element, are connected in parallel. Further, the semiconductor light source drive device comprises: a DC power source 108 which supplies a DC voltage to the light source unit 700; a switching element drive part for driving the conduction/non-conduction of the switching elements in the light source modules 701-704; and a control part for controlling the switching element drive part so as to conduct the switching elements in response to the detection of light by the light detection element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
