PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the presence or absence of dew condensation on an electromagnetic brake, to prohibit the normal operation immediately after the dew condensation over a specified limit, and restart safe and normal operation immediately by removing dew. SOLUTION: A rope type elevator is provided with a dew sensor 2 which detects the dew condensation on the electromagnetic brake for hoist 1 of a rope type elevator and a heater 5 which controls a control device 3 so as to prohibit the operation of the elevator based on dew detection signals 2a from the dew sensor 2 and heats the electromagnetic brake. By this, the dew condensation can be known accurately and the heater 5 is operated so as to eliminate dew. Thus the lowering of the function of the electromagnetic brake can be avoided and the operating efficiency of the elevator can be increased. |
