PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the moving locus of a thin type image display device simple as much as possible in the case where the image display device is mounted on a prescribed mounting object body and where the image display device is changed from a stored state to a used state, and also to prevent the image display device from being brought into contact with baggage or the like placed on the base part in the change of operation and in the stored state. SOLUTION: The present invention is a mounting device for mounting a thin type television set D at the ceiling part 6 of a head board 1 and the mounting device is equipped with television set supporting bars 21 which hold the thin type television set and slide rails 10 which guide moving operations of the television set supporting bars between a usage position set at the front area of the ceiling part and a storage position set rearer than the usage position, and the mounting device is characterized in that the slide rails are set so that the vertical position of the television set supporting bars at the usage position becomes lower than that of the storage position, and the television set supporting bars can hold the thin type television set in a horizontal attitude in which the display screen is turned upward at the storage position and hold the television in a vertical attitude in which the display screen is turned forward.
