PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus by which a user takes a photograph with no stress, without sensing an excessive unphotographable time. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: a predicted temperature calculating part for calculating the predicted temperature of a strobe light emitting part 12 according to the light emission situation; and a system control part 11 which functions as a control part for suppressing the charging current or light emitting energy of the strobe light emitting part 12 according to the predicted temperature calculated by the predicted temperature calculating part.
