PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a belt by preventing the belt from being broken due to stress concentration during breadthwise belt shift restriction. SOLUTION: At both width-directional ends of an intermediate transfer belt 15, a reinforcing member 81 is stuck on an outer peripheral surface side 15a and a reinforcing member 82 is stuck on an inner peripheral surface side 15b. Then a breadthwise shift restricting member 83 is stuck on the reinforcing member 82. A center-side end point 81a of the reinforcing member 81 is disposed more closely to the center of the intermediate transfer belt 15 than a center-side end point 82a of the reinforcing member 82. The center-side end point 82a of the reinforcing member 82 is disposed closer to the center of the intermediate transfer belt 15 than a center-side end point 83a of the breadthwise shift restricting member 83. When the breadthwise shift restricting member 83 moves onto a collar 31b of a driving roller 31, an end of an end-portion belt body of the intermediate transfer belt 15 curves to prevent stress concentration.
