A method of implementing a transaction payment by means of a computer system, comprising: a POS (100) generating an electronic payment request (400), generating a transaction receipt (200), and assigning a transaction identifier code (300) to the transaction, the POS (100) transmitting the transaction receipt together with the identifier code to a receipt server (110), for storage, the POS transmitting the payment request and said identifier code to a payment system of a customer's bank (120, 140), whereby details of the transaction together with said identifier code appear subsequently on a customer's bank statement (150), and a receipt look up means (130), separate from the payment system, and communicating with the receipt server, whereby when the customer arranges for the identifier code to be transferred from the bank statement to the receipt look up means, the receipt server locates and communicates the transaction receipt to the receipt look up means, to display the receipt to the customer. |
