PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send/receive maintenance data through the means of an electronic mail by providing a control means that stores maintenance data contained in the received electronic mail into a storage means, in the case that the electronic mail received via a computer communication network is a mail denoting the maintenance data so as to effectively utilize the computer communication network. SOLUTION: A main control section 1 of a facsimile equipment F with an electronic mail function discriminates the contents of an electronic mail received via a computer communication network. When the contents are data which denote maintenance data, the maintenance data stored in a flash ROM 8 or the like are rewritten with the contents of the data, and the rewritten results are returned. Thus, the facsimile equipment F receives the electronic mail of the maintenance data via the computer communication network to receive maintenance, while a maintenance service center uses the electronic mail to send the maintenance data, so that the communication time and the communication charge are reduced. |
