PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind automatic gain control(AGC) system which is superior in cost and performance to conventional systems. SOLUTION: In a maximum error detector 142, a gain error evaluating unit 144 generates a gain error signal Δx according to an input base band signal (x) and its sliced signal x'. Further, a maximum value detector 146 generates an update signal according to the sliced signal of the input base band signal and a 1st specific reference signal. In a decision gain controller 148, a gain value controller 150 converges the gain error signal Δx in a 1st state wherein a 1st converging technique is used and then converges the signal of the 2nd state obtained as a result by using a 2nd converging technique. An initial value buffer 152 is used to generate an output gain signal from the converged gain error signal. |
