PURPOSE: An audio evaluation apparatus of audio signal for improving the accuracy of the performance evaluation by adding an evaluation factor is provided to improve the audio evaluation performance by selecting a sound quality tester according to the number of channels. CONSTITUTION: A frame dividing unit(601) divides test signal and reference signal to the frames of a predetermined time section. An effective channel examination unit(603) inspects the effective channels of the signal. A tester selection unit(605) inputs the test signal to the tester according to the number of effective channels according to the effective channel examination result. A sound quality evaluator(607) evaluates the tone quality of the inputted audio signal.
