PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that has a simple structure, enables an optical coupling between a fiber optic and an optical integrated element, and is structured to avoid increase in a height of the device.SOLUTION: An optical device 11 comprises: an optical integrated element 13; and an optical connection component 15, which includes a prism 21 and an optical wiring component 23. The optical wiring component 23 includes a plurality of fiber optics 25 and a holder. First parts of the fiber optics 25 are held by the holder, and end parts of the first parts of the plurality of fiber optics 25 are located in a first end face 27a of the holder. Second parts thereof extend from a second end face of a holder 27. A first optical end face 21a of the prism 21 is optically coupled to the end parts of the first parts of the plurality of fiber optics 25. A second optical end face 21b of the prism 21 is optically coupled to a plurality of optical couplers 19 of the optical integrated element 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
