<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end cap assembly capable of improving a conventional fluorescent lamp fixed equipment with a semiconductor light tube by a simple and low-cost method. <P>SOLUTION: An end cap assembly 16 for a light tube 12 that has a circuit board 24 with one or more semiconductor lighting devices mounted thereto and a lens 30 covering the circuit board, includes an end cap body 36 having a lens engagement surface 94 configured to engage the lens and an external mating interface configured to mate with a socket connector of a fixed equipment. An end cap connector 50 extends from the end cap body.
