摘要 An optical power monitor is provided to reduce light transmitting loss by improving a multi-channel structure thereof. A light transmitting upstream optical fiber(2) and a light transmitting downstream optical fiber(3) include cores and cladding layers formed around the cores. Optical axes(15,16) of the cores face each other by offsetting each other. Sectional surfaces of the cores are fused at a fusion part(5). A light reflection surface(14) is formed in the cladding layer of the downstream optical fiber. The light reflection surface faces the sectional surface of the core of the upstream optical fiber, which is offset and protrudes from the sectional surface of the core of the downstream optical fiber at the fusion part. The light reflection surface has a certain angle at the optical axis of the core of the downstream optical fiber. A photodiode(7) is disposed opposite to the light reflection surface with respect to the core of the downstream optical fiber to detect the light that is transmitted through the core of the upstream optical fiber. The photodiode is leaked into the cladding layer of the downstream optical fiber from the sectional surface of the core of the upstream optical fiber core to the downstream optical fiber in order to detect the reflected light from the light reflection surface. The light reflection surface is formed at an interference position of the light leaked from the part of the sectional surface of the core of the upstream optical fiber into the downstream optical fiber.
