PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device which removes foreign objects when a sheet-like transfer object having an electrode is transferred, and to provide a transfer method.SOLUTION: A transfer device includes: a placement part 30 for placing a sheet-like transfer object 12 having an electrode 20; a transfer part 40 which holds the transfer object 12 placed on the placement part 30 and transfers the transfer object 12; a jet part 50 having nozzles 51 for jetting a gas; and a control part 60 which causes the gas to be jetted from the nozzles 51. Each nozzle 51 is disposed with its gas jetting direction oriented to an edge part of the transfer object 12 placed on the placement part 30. The control part 60 causes the gas to be jetted from the nozzles 51 when the transfer part 40 holds the transfer object 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
